All PAX card terminals (A35/A77/A80/A910/A920pro/IM304G) can be activated only by using the activation code:
The Activation screen will display a ‘User Activation Code’ button on the device. Click this and then take a note of the code shown on your device:
Then you can either continue through your self-care account or your viva banking app.
Enter the code within your self-care account:
Log into your Viva self-care account and navigate to Sales > Physical Payments > Card Terminals
Click on the ‘New Card Terminal’ button at the top-right of the screen
You will need to enter the code from your device before clicking ‘Next’
You will then be shown a message, telling you to ‘Finish setting up on your device’
Confirm the prompt shown on your device to proceed
You can then go ahead and complete the setup of your device. Depending on the device, this may include connecting external devices such as card readers, activating MOTO functionality, activating QR code functionality, and configuring device permissions
Enter or scan the code within your Viva banking app:
Log into your Viva banking app and click on the Preferences tab at the bottom-right
Click on the ‘Activate a Viva Terminal’ menu option
You can then manually enter or scan the code from your POS device - the latter option bringing up your camera to allow you to take a photo of the device code
Once manually entered or scanned, click the ‘Activate Device’ button to proceed
You will then see a message to confirm activation is successful
Lastly, you will be shown an activation prompt on your terminal device. Simply confirm the prompt and proceed to complete the setup of your device
How do I activate my PAX Ethernet card terminal (PAX A35 & PAX A80)?
Step by step instructions:
Connect the electricity cable in the Power port and the network cable to the LAN port, which you can find on the backside of the device.
Press the red button continuously to start the device.
Click on the Viva.com Image logo, choose your preferred language and tap on the Continue button.
On the next page click Continue
Wait until the notification to enter the amount of payment appears
The card terminal is ready to use.
PAX A77 & PAX A920 pro specifics
Once you turn on the device, set the device permissions by selecting "Set Permissions."
At this point, you will need to launch the "Viva Launcher" app, where you will be required to activate the application's "Permit usage access" permission.
Follow the instructions (language, consent for device access to phone, media, etc.).
Next, you must activate the terminal using an activation code, as described above.
