What are offline payments?

Offline payments are transactions that are processed through the viva.com terminal app when the app is unable to connect to the internet. This could be due to a lack of internet connectivity or an unstable connection. When viva.com terminal is in offline mode, the transaction is stored locally on the device. Once the connection to the internet is reestablished, stored transactions are processed and finalized.


Which card terminals support the offline payments feature?

Offline payments feature is available for viva.com business customers who are using the viva.com terminal app on Android devices. More specifically the below card terminals are eligible:

  • Tap to Pay

  • Mini Card Reader [Paired]

  • Pocket Reader [Paired]

  • Ciontek CS50C

  • Ciontek CS30PRO

  • Ciontek CS30PRO with a professional scanner

How can I activate the offline payments feature?

The offline payments feature is activated by default for our business customers who use the viva.com terminal app.

Which card schemes does the offline transaction feature support?

Offline payments are supported for VISA, MasterCard, and AMEX card schemes.

To find the offline payments within the viva.com terminal app, follow the steps below:

  1. Open viva.com terminal app

  2. Select Transactions

  3. Locate the Offline indication for offline transactions

  2. Select More and Offline Mode
