What is IRIS Payment via POS
IRIS payment via POS is a new way of accepting payments that allows professionals to receive money directly from their customer’s banking app, without the use of a card. The process is simple: the customer scans the QR code displayed on your POS terminal and completes the payment through their bank’s mobile banking app.
With this new feature, which will be available from 1 November 2025, you can offer your customers a modern, secure, and instant payment method.
How IRIS Payment Works on the POS Terminal
The customer informs you that they wish to pay with IRIS.
On the POS, select IRIS as the payment method.
A QR code with the transaction amount appears on the terminal screen.
The customer scans the QR code using their bank’s mobile banking app. To complete the payment, the customer’s mobile device must have an active internet connection.
Once the payment is completed, the POS receives confirmation and prints a receipt.
The transaction is completed instantly and securely.
Refunds are supported through the POS.
What You Need to Activate IRIS on the POS
To accept IRIS payments through Viva POS, you must have:
Compatible terminal:
Viva Terminal App (Android / iOS), Soft POS
Ciontek or Sunmi devices
PAX devices (PayDroid App and/or Viva Terminal App)
Prolin (S900, D200, S800, Q30)
Supported integration protocols (if integration is mandatory for your business):
Cloud Terminal API
App2App (InterApp)
Local Terminal API (Α. 1155/2023)
ECR Protocol (Α. 1098/2022)
Registered business IBAN with AADE, linked to IRIS.
