Payments via Apple Pay

E- Commerce

Updated over a week ago

The Apple Pay payment method is available from viva.com to all its merchants. This method allows your customers to pay easily and quickly using the Apple Pay app or their Apple device.

Apple Pay provides a secure and seamless payment method you can offer in-app, in-store, and online (on Safari). Apple Pay uses tokenization technology, securely stores payment information on the buyer's device, and confirms the payment through Touch ID or Face ID authentication. Apple Pay complies with PSD2 SCA requirements.

Some of the key benefits of offering Apple Pay as a payment method are:

Popularity: People value using Apple Pay for fast and easy purchases. You can enhance the shopping experience by utilizing the improved checkout process, allowing users to approve the payment instantly and complete their transactions.

Quick Checkout: Customers can complete their purchase with just one tap, without needing to fill out a form.

Integrated Setup: Users who have not yet added a card can do so and pay immediately without leaving your app or website. Identify if customers are using a device that supports Apple Pay and offer the corresponding setup during the checkout process.

Security: Apple Pay provides a secure way to make payments. Every transaction on your customer’s iPhone or iPad requires Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode. Additionally, whenever your customer removes their Apple Watch from their wrist, they need to enter a passcode to use it. Furthermore, you do not receive your customers’ actual credit or debit card numbers, so you do not manage sensitive data in your systems when customers pay with Apple Pay.

User experience

  1. During checkout, the customer selects Apple Pay and taps the Pay button.

  2. From the pop-up window, the customer chooses their preferred card and proceeds with the payment.

  3. Next, the customer confirms their identity using a passcode or biometric data (Face ID or Touch ID) before completing the payment.

Once the customer pays with Apple Pay, the following steps occur:
