Starting 1 March 2026, a new Italian government regulation will require merchants to link their active card terminals with their fiscal printers or cash registers through the Italian Tax Agency’s system (Agenzia delle Entrate).
Important Information for Italian Merchants
Viva’s card terminals will be fully ready to support the new regulation.
Viva will send a list of active terminal TIDs to the Italian Tax Agency.
Additional communications will be sent in due time.
Merchants must wait for an official email from the Italian Tax Agency, which will be sent to their registered email address starting from 1 March 2026.
From the date of that email, merchants will have 45 days to complete the linking process.
Merchants should not take any action before receiving the official email from the Italian Tax Agency.
What Merchants Must Do
After receiving the official email from the Italian Tax Agency, merchants are required to:
Access the Italian Tax Agency portal using their credentials.
Link each active card terminal to the corresponding cash register or fiscal printer.
Complete the linking process within 45 days from the date of the email.
