3D Secure is an interactive transaction verification process between the issuing bank and the cardholder.
This protocol requires the cardholder to authenticate the transaction with the card issuer (e.g., to receive a push notification on his/her mobile phone).
The 3D Secure process is implemented whenever an online transaction is made in Europe and the UK with cards issued in the EU and the UK under the PSD2 Directive.
In particular, viva.com customers, once proceeding to an online transaction, may follow two steps to identify the transaction:
Step 1:
Tap on the PUSH NOTIFICATION (The push notification will be sent to the cardholder's mobile device once the card details have been entered into the merchant's site, and the customer will proceed with the payment).
Step 2:
Enter the viva.com app using the biometrics or PIN selected on the enrolled mobile device (e.g., Fingerprint, Face ID).
Once customers log in to the viva.com app, confirm the online payment request by selecting “Authorise.”
After you complete the online transaction, a relevant message will appear.
