If you want to enable the preauthorization option on your card terminal you should contact one of our representatives via chat or via email

Preauthorize a transaction

Open the viva.com terminal on your card terminal or mobile device, and follow the below steps:

  1. Select the "Charge" option at the bottom left hand-side of the screen and "Preauth" option.

  2. Enter the amount and press the "Preauth" button.

  3. Tap the card close to the device. Once a successful transaction is completed, you can choose to print or share the receipt.

Capture/Cancel a pre-authorized transaction

💡To capture a pre-authorized transaction, the process must be initiated through your cash register.

Open the viva.com terminal on your card terminal or mobile device, and follow the

below steps:

  1. Select the "Capture" option at the middle bottom of the screen.

  2. A pre-authorized transaction can be captured by reading the card that was originally used and by selecting the specific transaction.

  3. Upon choosing the desired transaction, 3 options appear:

    a. Capture

    b. *Release (Cancel the preauthorization)

    c. Send receipt

  4. Select "Capture" and enter the amount to be charged which can be the full amount of the pre-authorized transaction or part of it. Tap on "Continue" and confirm by choosing "Capture".

  5. Once the capture is completed, you can either print or send the receipt to the cardholder.

💡 Useful Information!

The pre-authorization cancellation must occur on the same day as the pre-authorized transaction.

Alternatively, you can capture a pre-authorized transaction through your account:

  1. Log in to your viva.com account.

  2. Select Sales > Sales Transactions.

  3. Find the transaction you wish to charge and select Capture.

Search for pre-authorized transactions in Your Account

  1. Log in to your viva.com account.

  2. Select Sales > Transactions.

  3. Choose the period you are interested in.

  4. Select Advanced Search.

  5. From the Reserved Transactions category, select Reserved Only.

  6. Click Search to display all the pre-authorizations you have made for the selected period.
