To start accepting payments with the Viva.com Terminal app, there are two basic ways to activate it: through a simple login or through a PIN code.
through a simple login | through a PIN code |
Simply enter the username and password of one of your account users and you can start accepting payments. | Follow the in-app instructions until you create a PIN. Give this PIN to someone who has access to your account. This user can log into the account and activate the terminal using the appropriate option either through web-banking or through the Viva.com Banking app. |
Which way to use
You can choose whichever activation method you prefer, but there are some best practices depending on the structure of your business.
Category of business | Optimal Activation Method |
If you are a freelancer or a sole trader | When you are the only user of your account:
|
If there are many users per shift | If you plan to use the Viva.com Terminal app on a device that is used by more than one user at the same time during the same shift:
|
If there is one user per shift | If the device is used by more than one employee, but each user uses it exclusively for an entire shift:
|
Here's how you can add users and define their access.
In any case, if your business has frequent staff changes and you need to quickly integrate new employees:
Turn on the device using PIN protection.
Use the calendar batch management function to check transactions at the end of each shift.
Useful notes:
Immediately after activation, make sure you assign a friendly name to each newly activated terminal so that you can quickly and easily recognize it. Find out how to do this here

If you have more than one store or multiple sales points, we recommend creating a separate store and adding each new activated Viva.com Terminal App to the respective store.
