Activating the Mini Card Reader During the Initial App Setup
To activate and connect the Mini Card Reader to your viva.com account, you need to activate the viva.com terminal app on your mobile or tablet by following the steps described here.
After completing the setup process and continuing within the app, follow the steps below to pair the Mini Card Reader with your mobile or tablet device.
Note: Before proceeding, ensure the Mini Card Reader is sufficiently charged (>25%).
The following process covers Bluetooth connection. For USB connection, select the USB option where available and physically connect the USB cable.
Enable Bluetooth on your device.
Turn on the terminal by pressing and holding the red Power button in the top-right corner until a red LED briefly lights up.
Once the device is powered on, tap “Next” on the app screen to display the device search screen.
Bring your device close to the terminal.
From the app, select the “Mini Card Reader” option to initiate the terminal search.
Confirm that the serial number displayed on your screen matches the one on the back of the terminal (S/N), then select Connect.
Press the button on the top-left corner of the terminal and select Pairing.
Press the button on the top-left corner of the terminal again.
Once the updates are complete, your terminal will be ready to use!
Activating the Mini Card Reader After the Initial Setup
If you selected the "Skip and set up later" option during the installation of the viva.com terminal application, you can easily start pairing the Mini Card Reader by following the steps below:
For Wireless Connection (Bluetooth):
Open the viva.com terminal app > More > Card Readers.
Select your preferred connection method (Bluetooth or USB).
For Bluetooth, go to the card reader and select the Pairing function.
In the app, select the device from the available options.
You will see a notification asking you to select Pair.
In the Pairing Request popup, choose the Pair option.
Press the pairing button on the Card Reader and wait for the connection to complete.
The Card Reader may require a software update.
Tap Continue once the connection is complete to start using the card terminal.
You can then choose to connect additional devices or proceed.

For Wired Connection (USB):
Following the instructions in the viva.com terminal app, select Mini Card Reader from the prompt that appears.
Tap USB and connect the Mini Card Reader to your mobile device using the USB cable.
The viva.com terminal app will search for the Mini Card Reader, and you must confirm the correct serial number displayed on the screen (the S/N can be found on the lower-left side of the back of the Mini Card Reader).
The pairing is successful.
You can now proceed to use your Mini Card Reader.
