Mini Card Reader Pairing Steps via viva.com terminal for Ciontek

In this article, you will find all the necessary info you need to follow within viva.com terminal so as to pair Mini Card Reader with viva.com terminal/Ciontek Terminals.

Make sure that your phone device/ tablet is compatible with:

  • Bluetooth Version: 4.2 or greater

  • Android Version: 8.1 or greater

Either during the setup phase of the app or via More > Card Readers in the app after setup is complete, you can select the type of card reader you wish to pair.


A. Set up a device

Upon selecting the "Setup a device" option, you should follow the steps indicated on the screen.

Note that the pairing between viva.com terminal and the Mini Card Reader can be made either via Bluetooth (wirelessly) or through a USB cable.

Bluetooth Pairing Steps

In order to pair the Mini Card Reader with the viva.com terminal via Bluetooth connection, you need to follow the steps below:

Before proceeding ➜ You should make sure that the Mini Card Reader is enough charged (>25%).

  1. As per guidance within the viva.com terminal, select the "Mini Card Reader" in the message indicated.

  2. Tap on "Bluetooth".

  3. Turn on the Mini Card Reader (Press and hold the power button until the light continuously blinks red).

  4. Choose the correct S/N number on the list (the S/N number can be located on the lower left-hand side of the bottom face of the card terminal).

  5. Select "Pair" twice so as to confirm the pairing request.

  6. Press the "Connect" button on the Mini Card Reader in order to confirm pairing (once the pairing is successful the light will turn white for one second. You should make sure that the phone is close to the Mini Card Reader).

  7. Pairing is successful.

USB Cable Pairing Steps

  1. As per guidance within the viva.com terminal, select the "Mini Card Reader" in the message indicated.

  2. Tap on "USB", and link the Mini Card Reader and the mobile device with the USB cable.

  3. The viva.com terminal searches for the Mini Card Reader, and you need to confirm that the correct serial number is indicated on the screen (the S/N number can be located on the lower left-hand side of the bottom face of the card terminal).

  4. Pairing is successful.

B. Skip and set it later

If you had chosen the "Skip and setup later" option during the setup of viva.com terminal, you can easily start pairing your Mini Card Reader by selecting:

  1. From the main screen of viva.com terminal on your mobile device, the "More" option.

  2. On the settings screen, select the "Card readers".
