For Android Devices

If you are using an Android device and try to charge a card through viva.com terminal fails, make sure that:

  • You are using an Android device (Phone/tablet) operating in Android version 8.1 and above.

  • The card you are trying to charge supports contactless transactions.

  • Your device (phone/tablet) supports NFC technology and the NFC setting is activated.

  • Additionally, you can try tapping the card lightly on the back of your device until you hear the characteristic sound indicating that the card details have been successfully read.

💡Useful Tip!

Each device reads the card at a different point, you can place a small sticker in the right place to locate it more easily next time.

For iOS Devices

If you are using an iOS device in the UK, in the Netherlands, in Germany, in France or in Italy and try to charge a card through viva.com terminal and fails, follow the steps described here: A contactless payment card cannot be read. What should I do?

If the transaction amount exceeds the contactless limit of the card, can I use the viva.com terminal?

In the following countries, payments that exceed the contactless transactions' limit,

must be completed via a chip reader (Mini Card Reader) or the QR sale functionality within the viva.com terminal.

  • Finland

  • France

  • Ireland

  • United Kingdom

When using the QR sale functionality, customers will be redirected to the Smart Checkout page and fill in the card details to authorize the sale themselves.
